The Journey to Miss Universe Guyana 2017 continues and today we introduces you to the eleven finalists competing for the once in a lifetime chance to represent Guyana at the 66th Miss Universe Pageant. The Miss Universe Guyana 2017 finals is scheduled for Saturday, August 19, 2017 at York College in Jamaica New York. The competition commences with all contestants arriving in NY for the preliminary competitions which includes, swimwear, talent, evening gown, fitness and intelligence segments. The scores from the Preliminary Competitions will help determine who will move one step closer towards winning the coveted crown and title. Over the weekend, Guyana’s representative to Miss Global International 2017 was crowned. Cynthia Dookie is a 23 year old, driven young woman who strives for excellence in everything she does. She is a renowned fitness trainer and the founder of her signature fitness project- FIT U, under the slogan “Transforming Lives One Pound At A Time”. In her opening remarks she expressed her gratitude and excitement for this new journey. She referenced our past Queens as she knows the road ahead will be filled with hard work, laughter and many unforgettable experiences. Ms Dookie is no stranger to pageants as she recently competed in the Miss India Guyana 2017 pageant and copped the 2nd Runner up spot along with the Miss Fitness Award. Modelling has given her a louder voice to sound her beliefs on the importance of suicide prevention since she lost her brother to this act.
The 5’6 model who received her education at South Ruimveldt Secondary, dreams of becoming an engineer. Balancing her dream, while making a living, Walcott ensures she has her safety net.
