Miss Earth Guyana 2019 has begun with a vibrant start; placing emphasis on what truly matters, the world around us. The nine delegates representing the flora of Guyana have taken their places in fulfilling the mandate of the international Miss Earth competition by engaging in beach clean-up, tree planting, and educational activities, all aimed at raising awareness about the protection and preservation of our planet.
The last major beach clean-up that took place was at the Georgetown Seawall where the young ladies, along with the Miss Earth Guyana Organization and representatives from volunteer groups as well as sponsors came out in their numbers to remove litter from the shores of the beach. This was in the aim of enhancing its aesthetic and make it safer for patrons as well as marine life which are affected when garbage, especially plastics are washed into the ocean.
This Easter weekend, the team comes to Berbice and will have their first Berbice Beach Clean Up Campaign at the Number 63 Beach on Saturday, April 20. Use this opportunity to meet the delegates and learn more about their Beauties For A Cause Project but most importantly join them as they make Guyana a cleaner and safer place to live.
