Miss Earth Guyana 2019, 26-year-old Faydeha King, left Guyana’s shores on Thursday morning for the Philippines where she will be competing with 90+ beauty ambassadors from around the world for the title of Miss Earth 2019. Her first stop will be New York City, where she will then depart to the Philippines as Guyana’s representative to the annual pageant.
The pageant is set to be held between September 29 and October 26. The preliminary competitions will be held leading up to the grand coronation. The Miss Earth pageant is an international environmental event channeling the beauty pageant entertainment industry as an effective tool to promote environmental awareness. The pageant is a search for the most beautiful women of the Earth to serve as a role model dedicated to upholding the advocacy of preserving and restoring Mother Earth.
Guyana’s representative to the pageant hails from Skeldon, Berbice. She is no stranger to pageantry, having participated in several, including Miss Guyana Universe, Miss Bartica Regatta and Miss Black San’ International. Her hobbies includes reading, discovering, and quiet time to let my imagination run free. Ms. King has chosen this pageant because of her determine spirit, pageant experiences and the way she has represent myself, community and country. She wants to be the next Miss Earth because she believes that Mother Earth has so much to offer. “It just takes someone who has the guts to make a move and lead our generation, to show how taking care and appreciating our environment can be beautiful”.
