MISS WORLD GUYANA 2021, THE VICTORIA REGIA JOURNEY POSTPONED TO 2022!
Miss World 2021 will be the 70th edition of the Miss World competition which will be held on December 16, 2021, at the José Miguel Agrelot Coliseum in San Juan, Puerto Rico where Miss World 2019 Toni-Ann Singh will crown her successor at the end of the event. Unfortunately, Guyana will not be represented due to the many challenges facing the local leg of the competition even though the beginning of the year seemed promising. Meet the Miss Guyana Teen Scholarship Pageant 2019 Quarter-finalists!
The Imperial House recently launched the Miss Guyana Teen Scholarship Pageant that seeks to empower teen girls and to contribute toward their education through scholarships. Since the launch over 30 applications were received and 18 girls have been selected as the first Miss Guyana Teen Scholarship quarterfinalists; 10 will go into the final. The Imperial House is a registered organisation working towards creating and implementing social programs for the advancement of youths in Guyana through pageants and the theatrical arts. Rashena Hanif is Miss India Guyana 2019!
Eighteen-year-old; aspiring lawyer Rafeena Haniff took home the Miss India Guyana 2019 crown and title. The coronation ceremony was held Ramada Georgetown Princess Hotel Sunday Evening where Rafeena competed with five other young ladies for the chance to represent Guyana at the Miss India Worldwide 2019 Competition to be held in Mumbai, India later this year. Amel Griffith is Miss Bartica Regatta 2019!
Copping the Miss Bartica Regatta crown, from eight other beauties, came as a shock to 18-year-old Amel Griffith. In addition to the crown, Griffith also won the Miss Body Beautiful and Miss Multimedia prizes. The Miss Congeniality prize went to Tonesha Deweever, and winner of the Top Model segment was Adeola Sutherland. Tonia Harris won the crowd over from her eloquent introduction, and displayed that consistency throughout the evening, winning the Best Talent and Best Evening Gown prizes.
